# Confirm version

First of all, you need to confirm your Windows version. KMS only supports VOL version. If you don’t know what version you are, use the following command in the command line to check.

If there is VOLUME in the "Description" line, it is the VOL version, and if there is RETAIL, it is the retail version.

# convert

If your system is a retail version, then follow this step to convert to a VOL version. If it is a VOL version when you download it, you can directly skip to the third step to activate it. According to the version in the line "Name" on the above page, find the corresponding VOL-Key in Appendix A: KMS client installation key. Then use the command:

slmgr /ipk VOL-Key

You will be prompted to successfully install the key.

Set KMS server address:
