# Cause

Recently, I installed a Xiaomi monitor at the door of my house. Considering that if a theft occurs, the monitor itself may also be stolen. It is not safe to store the images captured by the monitor only in the memory card, so I want to configure cloud storage. When I saw it, oh my god, only 7 days of loop recording costs 15 yuan a month, and this monitoring is only a hundred yuan, which is quite uneconomical.

After searching for a long time in the settings, I found the NAS storage option and planned to configure it, but I couldn’t connect to the NAS storage in the LAN anyway. After entering the account and password, I could never get information.

I searched the Internet and found no one with this problem. It was very strange. Finally, I found out that Xiaomi monitor only supports SMBv1, and the NAS I deployed at home defaults to SMBv2.

# Solution

After consulting a lot of information, it is solved by modifying the configuration file. My system is ubuntu, and other systems are roughly the same:

nano /etc/samba/smb.conf

#Add the following two lines to the [global] of the file:
client min protocol = NT1
server min protocol = NT1

#Finally restart the smbd service.
services restart smbd

Here you should be able to configure the monitoring directly. After the configuration is complete, you will enter this interface. The transmission is preparing. Wait for a while, and the transmission is normal:

At this time, when you return to the NAS storage, you can see that the files have been arranged in order. I checked that the rule is to upload every five minutes. That is to say, if someone appears on the monitoring screen and destroys the monitoring time If it takes less than five minutes, there is a high probability that this critical image will not be uploaded to the NAS, so this function is only for gentlemen and not for villains, but it is better than nothing.
